Affinity Workforce Solutions is recruiting a Catering Assistant for a specialist education setting in Taunton part of the Cabot Learning Federation Trust. This role supports a unique school environment dedicated to young people with social, emotional, and communication needs, helping deliver high-quality meals that fuel learning and wellbeing.

About the Setting

Our partnered school is a special school for students in Years 5-11 with EHCPs for SEMH and SCL needs. The school provides a targeted curriculum focused on literacy, numeracy, PSHCE, and PE, alongside enrichment subjects like Art, ICT, careers, and life skills. The academy serves students from across Somerset and is committed to preparing every young person for life beyond school.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a reliable, proactive Catering Assistant who can:

  • Assist with school menu planning, food preparation, and cooking

  • Transport meals between two school sites and serve them safely

  • Maintain stock control and work within budget

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and allergen regulations

  • Work collaboratively in a busy, friendly team environment

You’ll need:

  • A Level 2 award in Food Safety

  • A full UK Driving Licence

  • Experience catering for large groups in a supervisory role

  • A strong understanding of dietary and allergen requirements

  • A commitment to consistent, high-quality service

Role Details

  • Part-time: 16.25 hours/week

  • Term Time Only
