This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join the future development of an Outstanding OFSTED-rated SEN school, working in partnership with Affinity Workforce Solutions in the BS16 area.
We are seeking to appoint a committed Learning Support Assistants, ideally trained in TeamTeach, to support students with special educational needs at an Alternative Provision. This role involves working with individuals and groups to support both academic progress and social development.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience supporting children in a SEN capacity.
Be comfortable managing children with challenging behaviour.
Be trained or willing to be trained in TeamTeach.
Be adaptable, energetic, and patient, giving children the time and support they need.
Must be equipped to excel; you’ll receive training in sensory processing difficulties.
Be a team player with initiative and a good sense of humour.
Have excellent communication skills.
Be experienced in working with children in small groups or 1:1, up to ratios of 2:1, 3:1, 4:1, 5:1, and 6:1.
Have a positive approach and be flexible to the demands of the role.
Understand operational learning maps.
Be familiar with MAKATON and PECs.
