This is a unique opportunity to work in a nurturing, non-mainstream educational setting that supports children and young people with a range of special educational needs. Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Confident teaching across primary and/or secondary age groups
  • Strong understanding of curriculum expectations for different key stages
  • Able to deliver core subjects such as English and Maths in an adapted format
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Passionate about supporting pupils with a wide range of needs and backgrounds
  • Skilled in behaviour management and positive reinforcement strategies
  • Committed to promoting the school’s inclusive vision and values
  • Familiar with the Teachers’ Standards and committed to professional development

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Support pupils with SEND in both group and one-to-one settings
  • Implement behaviour support strategies in line with school policy
  • Safeguard and support vulnerable pupils
  • Supervise pupils during break and lunch times as needed
  • Collaborate with and guide teaching assistants within the classroom
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families
  • Monitor and document pupil progress to inform assessments
  • Provide feedback to colleagues and contribute to pupil development plans
  • Take pastoral responsibility for a group of pupils
  • Potentially lead a subject area within the school
  • Foster strong partnerships with parents, carers, and external stakeholders
