SEN Teaching Assistant

We currently have a vacancy for an SEN Teaching Assistant at our partnered school that provides outstanding bespoke educational programs for children with complex behavioral needs who are at risk of exclusion. These children have a range of severe and complex sensory profiles and learning difficulties.

We are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant who relishes a challenge and wants to make a difference to the lives of these children in all aspects of their lives. You must have resilience to challenging behaviours and unpredictable environments. Our partnered school prides itself on developing their strengths, celebrating their achievements and acknowledging their unique personalities, therefore we are seeking for an individual that has a caring nature and will show patience with the children.

The classes range from 10 pupils and 4 pupils per classroom, and you must be comfortable working in a 1:1, 2:1, 3:1 or 4:1 setting.

Our ideal candidate will be receiving relevant training in sensory processing difficulties and Team Teach Training to aid you to the best of your abilities in the role will be provided.

The ideal candidate will:

• Experience in a similar background is desirable
• Resilience and confidence to work with challenging behaviour
• The ability to work 1:1, 2:1, 3:1 or 4:1 with some students, to give them the time and support they need to learn
• Strong behavioural management
• Strong sense of willingness to learn and expand skillset within this sector
• Energetic and enthusiastic with commitment to inclusion
• Proactive and well adaptable
