The role:
Assist in the educational, personal and social development of students. Supporting them to access the curriculum, engage with their learning and achieve their full potential.
This role could entail supporting children with SEN (Special Educational Needs) and SEMH (social and emotional mental health), which could require working 1 to 1 and in small groups. Patience is essential within this role as you can experience challenging behavior. Any previous SEN experience is a bonus but not essential.
Contract type: Temporary with opportunity to go permanent based on good performance.
Day-to-day tasks:
- Help teachers prepare lesson materials
- Set up and tidy classrooms for lessons
- Work with students to make sure they understand
- Watch, record and report the progress students make
- Look after children who need support
- Give 1 to 1 support to specific students
- Lead classes with help from the teacher
