Assistant Headteacher (SEN)

 

Peterborough

 

£260-£290 per day

 

The Role:

 

Affinity Workforce are looking for an outstanding SEN practitioner with management experience or looking to move to management and good leadership potential. You will share our passion for achieving the very best outcomes for pupils.

 

You will play a vital role in improving standards across the school. You will need to be a proven practitioner who has worked with a range of pupil needs and will be able to model good practice to others.

 

Your high level of professional values and educational philosophy will ensure that the school makes sustained improvements in all aspects of life. You will have the commitment and aspiration for our pupils and staff to reach their full potential and have a commitment to the attainment and achievement of greater levels of independence for pupils who have complex, medical, behavioural and physical learning difficulties.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher in the School Self Review and monitoring procedures, including the strategic use of analysis of performance
  • Lead the implementation and the maintenance of the positive behaviour systems of the school
  • Have responsibility in conjunction with the SLT for the development of planning, coverage and delivery of the school’s curriculum and teaching and learning policies
  • Attend SLT meetings along with other members of the SMT to strategically plan for the development of underachieving pupils/different groups within the whole school through pupil progress meetings
  • Liaise with staff to recommend the relevant interventions to accelerate the progress of those pupils not making expected progress
  • Reflect the school’s vision, aims and ethos by promoting and developing a learning, caring culture
  • Lead by example
  • Manage staff in a way that promotes confidence and autonomy

 

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status UK
  • Management experience
  • Sound SEN knowledge and understanding of learning pathways
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and appropriate attitude towards promoting the welfare of learners
  • Enhanced DBS on update service
