(HLTA) Higher Level Teaching Assistant

 

 

Peterborough

 

£110 – £125 per day

 

Affinity Workforce are currently recruiting for a strong qualified SEND HLTA to work with a supportive primary school in PE3. The successful candidate will need to be able to work independently in whole class, group or individual situations usually under the direction of a teacher and will be expected to deliver support to individual students and small groups, including interventions and specific areas of vocational learning.

 

The successful candidate will be working with EYFS students and must be confident, ambitious and energetic!

 

Essential:

  • HLTA status or working towards relevant Level 4 Qualification or proven HLTA experience.
  • Experienced in supporting children with SEND especially students with PMLD & ASD.
  • Experience of planning, preparing and delivering lessons.
  • Confident in your class behavioural management techniques.
  • Knowledge of a range of strategies to establish a purposeful learning environment and to promote good behaviour.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.

 

Ideal:

  • Able to plan, facilitate & lead group activities as well as one to one teaching and interventions.
  • Experience & proven ability to work with and improve challenging behaviour.
  • Assist teacher with information gathering and resources as appropriate.
  • Ability to recognise and resolve more complex problems but know when to refer upwards.
  • Able to create a positive learning environment and create a range of ways to make learning interesting.

Your application will be subject to an enhanced DBS and two references, so it is essential that you have previous experience of working in an Education Setting.
