Special Education Teacher
Peterborough
£150-£200 per day
We are working closely with a multi-academy trust in Peterborough to find two dynamic and engaging Special Needs Teachers to work with them until the end of the academic year. There is potential for the right candidate to secure a permanent role off the back of this initial temporary contract.
Responsibilities
- The successful SEN Teacher will implement the planned curriculum put in place by the school in such a way it is accessible to all learners in the class
- The successful SEN Teacher will embed themselves in the school’s culture and actively collaborate with their colleagues, including but not limited to TAs, lead teachers and SLT
- The successful SEN Teacher will use their passion for supporting learners with special needs to make the lessons dynamic and interesting, and will use their organisational and admin skills to maintain progress reports on learners in their classroom to support feedback to parents

- Lime Academy Orton is a special school catering for learners aged 4-19 with severe to profound learning disabilities. Their mission is to create a tailored and purposeful curriculum for learners with an emphasis setting each individual personalised learning goals. One of their central aims is to empower their learners to leave education as adults with as much independence as possible.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Candidates are required to have (or be willing to apply for) an enhanced Child and Adult Workforce DBS on the update service
- Candidates are required to have UK QTS
- Candidates are required to have at least 6 months experience working with learners with additional needs
- Recent completion of TeamTeach training would be beneficial to your application
