Every year we look forward to our annual education conference, a night that celebrates all of the successes from the academic year.

This year over 200 employees from AWS’ four brands, Career Teachers, CER, Monarch Education and Sugarman Education, travelled to Birmingham to celebrate at the luxury golf resort, The Belfry.

Staff dressed to impress for the black tie event and were treated to a delicious 3 course dinner, a champagne reception, along with some fantastic live music from live band, Apollo Soul.

Our award winners

The atmosphere was electric as awards were presented to staff across the business. All winners received an award, a bottle of prosecco and a £100 shopping voucher as a token of their hard work and dedication.

Our Top Billers and Consultants of the Year were also presented with a ‘place on the plane’, an all expenses paid trip which will take place in the new academic year. The destination is yet to be confirmed!

As well as our top performers, there were many other awards presented on the night such AWS Manager of the Year, Best Newcomer, Operational Support, Values award and the Desk Growth award

New awards

We also introduced some new awards this year, voted for by the staff at AWS.

The People’s choice award

This gives all colleagues the opportunity to acknowledge someone who embodies our values, has a positive attitude, and had displayed excellent teamwork time and time again. A person who motivates others and contributes to a supportive working environment.

Fun Awards

We felt it was important to recognise the fun factor in AWS and awarded the prestigious AWS wooden spoon award for titles such as, ‘The megaphone award, The peacock award, and the two left feet award’.

Raffle fundraising for charity

One of the highlights of our conference this year was the charity raffle we organised in support of our charity of the year, Shelter, which is dedicated to helping those experiencing homelessness.

Raffle tickets were sold throughout the event, contributing to the vibrant and generous spirit of the conference. We are proud to announce that, thanks to the collective efforts and donations of everyone involved, we successfully raised a total of £1560!

This contribution will go a long way in supporting Shelter’s vital work and making a positive impact on the lives of many individuals and families in need. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their generosity and support.

Esme Bianchi-Barry, CEO of AWS, said “It was a pleasure to be a part of the Affinity Workforce Annual Education Conference this year. We had the privilege of shining a spotlight on our remarkable individuals and their achievements. It was a time to celebrate the tireless efforts of everyone who had contributed to our collective success over the past year.

The achievements we celebrated were just the beginning, and I’m confident that the next academic year will be marked by even greater accomplishments. Bring on 2024!”

Congratulations to all of our winners! We hope you all enjoyed your night and we look forward to seeing what the next 12 months will bring.
