We’re thrilled to introduce you to Affinity Academy – our dedicated hub for learning and development. It’s designed to inspire our candidates and colleagues, helping them excel in their roles and beyond.

 

From online training courses, webinars, information packs and podcasts, our Learning & Development team has handpicked a range of topics and resources so you can continue to develop and upskill whilst working.

 

Our training portfolio has been thoughtfully curated to meet your needs. Candidates have access to comprehensive training modules such as Teaching Assistant Toolkits, Safeguarding Refresher Training, SEND, Primary National Curriculum, and Behaviour Toolkits.

 

AWS employees, on the other hand, can explore a broad range of training programs, including GDPR, Leadership, Candidate Management, Business Development, and Sales.

Our Online Courses for Candidates

 

 

To kickstart your learning journey, we’ve arranged a series of online courses that will run every half term:

 

 

  • Wednesday 29th May, 10 am and 12pm: Primary National Curriculum
  • Thursday 30th May, 10am: Skills for supply in Secondary School

Primary National Curriculum

 

This training session we will explore innovative strategies and practical insights to effectively support the implementation of the primary foundation curriculum. We will cover topics like long term to short term planning, progression documents, subjects, displays, Ofsted, jargon, school websites, lesson examples, resources and associated schemes of work.

 

The training session will take place on Wednesday 29th May. We are running two sessions, one at 10am and another at 12pm. Please indicate which session you would like to attend on the registration form. The content of both sessions will be the same.

Skills for supply in Secondary School

 

This session will be run by Adrian Anderson. Adrian has over 20 years’ experience in education, starting as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant and working his way up to Senior Management. The session will cover Cover/Supply Supervision, Preparation, Effective Communication, Routines for Learning , Rapport Building and Creative Problem Solving, Requesting Support and Maintaining Professional integrity.

 

This online training session will held on Tuesday 2nd April, 10am and Thursday 30th May, 10am. Please specify which session you would like to attend in the registration form.

Emma Ford

 

 

Meet Emma Ford, an experienced educational leader in the primary sector. With over a decade of headship experience in challenging schools, Emma has a strong track record of transforming schools from special measures to good, leading sustained improvements. She is passionate about creating school cultures centred around values and has expertise in providing bespoke provision for complex children.

 

Emma excels in developing leaders through coaching and strategic professional development. With extensive experience in training delivery across the country, she is well-versed in supporting families within the safeguarding arena.
