Are you driven by a passion for supporting young people’s mental health and well-being?

We’re offering an exciting opportunity for a Youth Mental Health Support Worker to join a vibrant alternative provision school within the Cabot Learning Federation, based near the Barton Hill/Kingswood area. This role goes beyond the classroom-it’s about helping pupils overcome obstacles, build resilience, and flourish both emotionally and academically.

About the School

Our partnered school provides a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for pupils aged 11-16 who have faced barriers in mainstream education. Many students have SEMH needs, EHCPs, and complex backgrounds, including experiences of trauma, social challenges, and undiagnosed special needs. The school’s mission is to re-engage learners through creative outreach, sports, expressive arts, and community projects, fostering confidence and a sense of belonging.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as a positive role model and mentor for pupils with challenging behaviour.
  • Support students in developing emotional regulation, social skills, and academic engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to implement tailored strategies.
  • Participate in outreach activities and off-site learning experiences.
  • Provide consistent, hands-on support in a multi-site alternative provision setting.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience with SEMH and SEN support (schools, youth work, charities, sports coaching, therapy, or mentoring etc).
  • Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with young people who may have experienced trauma or social exclusion.
  • Resilience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping pupils succeed.
  • A full UK driving licence with business insurance (essential for outreach and pupil transport).
  • Candidates with backgrounds in sport, youth mentoring, therapy, or community work are highly encouraged to apply.

Why Join Us?

  • Competitive daily rate and long-term stability.
  • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • A supportive, collaborative team environment focused on staff well-being.
  • The chance to make a tangible impact on young lives every single day.

If you’re ready to inspire, support, and empower young people while advancing your career in a people-focused organisation, we’d love to hear from you.
