  • I’m interested in becoming a recruitment consultant. What qualifications or experience are required?

    When applying for our roles, you should ideally have some experience within a customer service environment and/or target-based role with transferrable skills.

     

    However, something we will always look for is resilience along with the desire to be successful! You will receive full on-the-job training with a support team to ensure you have everything you need to thrive within a career in education recruitment.

  • What qualities and skills make a successful recruitment consultant?

     There are several skills and qualities that make a successful recruitment consultant. These include:

  • What does a recruitment consultant role at AWS entail? What are the responsibilities?

    As a recruitment consultant, you will be responsible for all aspects of the candidate recruitment process along with building and developing relationships with clients. This includes: 

     

    • Advertising, sourcing, interviewing and ensure all compliance criteria is met for all candidates  
    • Placing qualified candidates within schools and ensuring a match between the school’s needs and the candidate’s skills/experience 
    • Business development to forge new relationships 
    • Building on relationships with clients 
  • What does a day in the life of a recruitment consultant look like?

    We start the day early to be in before the school days start so we can ensure our clients have all the cover they require, and we’ve done everything we can to ensure available candidates have work. Once the school day starts and all our clients and candidates are all sorted, our day can begin!

     

    Most likely after another brew round and breakfast, our days will consist of speaking to our clients, arranging meetings with new ones and developing relationships in the area, speaking to candidates who are in the process of registering with us, working on chasing references, completing DBS applications, preparing for the next day, obtaining feedback for candidates, prepping any that have interviews the following days.

     

    A variety of tasks which all contribute to you making your mark within the education recruitment world! Every day is different but always exciting and new successes, surprises and challenges along the way.
