We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Key Stage 4 SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Mentor to join our team in Weston-super-Mare. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who need additional support to achieve their full potential within a specialist SEMH provision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to engage with the curriculum and develop essential life skills.
- Work closely with teachers to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and adapt learning materials to meet the needs of each student.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting self-esteem and resilience among students.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
- Assist with classroom management and support the emotional well-being of students.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications in education or child development are an advantage.
