Your opportunity to help shape a brand‑new academy
Affinity Partnerships is supporting Cabot Learning Federation (CLF) with recruitment for this role as part of our ongoing partnership.
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join Airfield Primary Academy, a brand new primary school opening in September 2026, and to be part of the founding team shaping an academy from its very first intake of children.
Opening initially with one Reception class only, Airfield Primary Academy will welcome its first 30 pupils and grow year on year to become a thriving three‑form‑entry primary school with nursery, serving the expanding Haywood Village community in Weston-Super-Mare.
As a Class Teacher covering PPA and leadership, you will be used to planning and consistently delivering high quality lessons. You will have experience in delivering all areas of the curriculum, with the ability to embrace change and motivate colleagues and students. We are looking for professionals who have excellent classroom management skills and high expectations of work and behaviour.
Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) should also consider applying for this role, alongside aspirational teachers who are considering teacher training.
The Role:
We are seeking an inspirational and dedicated teacher with a strong commitment to early years education and child‑centred practice. This role offers the opportunity to help design and embed excellent teaching, learning and routines from the outset, ensuring strong foundations for pupils’ learning and development.
You will use your skills, creativity and professional judgement to deliver high‑quality teaching that supports children’s academic progress, personal development and wellbeing. Working collaboratively within a growing team, you will contribute to shaping the culture, curriculum and ethos of our new academy.
For the right candidate, we would consider flexible working arrangements and staff who may already be in a teaching role and looking for more days in addition to their current commitments.
