SEND Teaching Assistant

Full-Time | Long-Term Opportunity

Affinity Partnerships are proud to be working exclusively with a welcoming and supportive primary school within a well-established trust in the local area. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 5 pupil with complex SEND needs.

About the Role

This is a rewarding opportunity for a skilled TA to make a meaningful impact, providing consistent, tailored support to help a pupil access learning, develop independence, and thrive both academically and emotionally. The successful candidate will be working closely with the class teacher, SENCo and wider support team to deliver a structured and nurturing approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a Year 5 pupil with complex SEND
• Implement personalised support strategies and interventions
• Build a strong, trusting and consistent working relationship with the pupil
• Support the child’s emotional regulation, engagement and behaviour
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals where required

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience supporting children with complex SEND needs (essential)
• Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
• A calm, patient and resilient approach
• Ability to commit to a long-term placement for continuity and consistency
