Affinity Partnerships are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Middle School Teacher to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) School from September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with students in Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 who require additional social, emotional and behavioural support to access education. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence and achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally.
The Role
As a Middle School Teacher, you will:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across the curriculum.
- Create a positive, structured and nurturing learning environment.
- Support students with SEMH needs and associated behavioural challenges.
- Develop individual learning strategies to maximise pupil engagement and progress.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
- Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists and senior leaders.
- Monitor, assess and report on student progress effectively.
- Promote resilience, self-esteem and emotional wellbeing.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Has experience teaching primary, middle school or lower secondary-aged pupils.
- Demonstrates strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Is passionate about supporting students with additional needs.
- Can adapt their teaching style to meet a variety of learning needs.
- Is resilient, patient and committed to improving outcomes for vulnerable learners.
- Experience within an SEMH, SEND, Alternative Provision or PRU setting is desirable but not essential.
