Learning Support Assistant – Maternity Cover

Are you a compassionate, committed and proactive teaching assistant ready to make a lasting impact?

We are seeking to source on behalf of a high achieving mainstream school within Central Regions Schools Trust, who are looking for a dedicated Achievement Assistant to support a child with a visual impairment in a mainstream classroom setting. This role is a rare opportunity to provide truly meaningful 1:1 support while gaining specialist skills in SEN and inclusive education.

The role:

As an Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a key role in assisting a named pupil with a vision impairment, helping them access the curriculum, develop confidence, and thrive alongside their peers. You’ll:

• Cooperate closely with teaching staff to support the child’s learning, development, and full inclusion in school life.
• Achieve 1:1 assistance in class and help foster independence in learning and daily routines.
• Develop expertise in SEN (Training provided) – Progressing from TA2 to TA3

Upon successful completion.

Ideal candidate:

• Experience working with children (preferably in a school environment)
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a calm, patient approach.
• Strong IT skills and willingness to learn specialist software/tools.
• A flexible mindset and commitment to equal opportunities.

Desirable but not essential: Experience working with students with SEND or vision impairments
