Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 30 hours/week, 8:30am-2:30pm Monday to Friday
Term Time Only + 5 Inset Days

Your Role in Supporting Student Success

As a Catering Assistant, you’ll help prepare and serve meals to students, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. You’ll work closely with the Cook and Catering Manager to deliver efficient, high-quality service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and serving food according to agreed menus and standards
  • Ensure food is presented well and served promptly
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and dining areas
  • Support stock control and kitchen organisation
  • Provide friendly, polite service to students and staff
  • Follow food safety and health & safety procedures
  • Contribute to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

What You’ll Bring

Qualifications:

  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

Experience:

  • Previous experience in catering or food service (preferred)
  • Experience in a school or similar environment (desirable)

Skills & Behaviours:

  • Friendly, enthusiastic, and reliable
  • Able to work well in a team and independently
  • Good communication and time management skills
  • Physically capable and able to work in a busy environment
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards and supporting children’s wellbeing
