Affinity Workforce Solutions is proud to be recruiting on behalf of our partnered school-an Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Special Needs School in BS4, Bristol. The school provides high-quality education and care for children and young people with severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), autism spectrum conditions (ASC), and complex needs. The school also caters for children of a secondary age group working on a primary curriculum.

As a classroom teacher, you’ll lead a team of support staff to deliver engaging, differentiated, and inclusive learning experiences tailored to each pupil’s needs. You’ll play a key role in promoting independence, communication, and life skills, while fostering a safe and stimulating environment where every child can thrive. You will also work with the SENCO to ensure they are meeting the needs of individual children’s EHCP’s (Educational Health Care Plan).

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the school’s creative and inclusive curriculum
• Lead and manage classroom support staff effectively
• Set and evaluate individual targets and maintain detailed records of progress
• Collaborate with parents, carers, and external agencies to support holistic development
• Contribute to curriculum development and school improvement initiatives
• Promote positive behaviour and safeguard the welfare of all pupils

Essential:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a relevant teaching qualification
• Experience or strong interest in working with pupils with SLD, PMLD, ASC, and complex needs
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding
