These schools are part of a highly regarded multi‑academy trust known for its nurturing ethos, strong leadership, and commitment to providing exceptional education for every child.

Our partner schools are now seeking dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to join their supportive teams.

As a SEND TA, you will play a vital role in helping pupils with a range of additional needs, including communication differences, sensory needs, learning difficulties, and social‑emotional challenges, thrive both academically and personally. You’ll work closely with Class Teachers, SENCOs, and wider support staff to deliver tailored interventions and consistent, compassionate support.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting SEND pupils through 1:1 and small‑group work

  • Assisting with personalised learning plans and structured interventions

  • Encouraging confidence, independence, and engagement in learning

  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies

  • Helping maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment

  • Contributing to observations and feedback for the teaching team

  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Passionate about supporting children with SEND

  • Confident working with behaviour, communication, or sensory needs

  • Patient, resilient, and calm under pressure

  • Friendly, approachable, and committed to inclusive education

  • Experience in SEND settings is desirable but not essential

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to individual pupil needs

Desirable Qualities

  • Experience supporting SEND pupils in a school or childcare setting

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 TA, CACHE, or equivalent)

  • Understanding of autism, ADHD, SEMH, or speech & language needs

  • A positive attitude, flexibility, and sense of humour

  • Enhanced DBS (Affinity Workforce can assist with this)
