Essential Qualities
- Empathy & compassion: A genuine understanding of trauma and the ability to respond with kindness, patience, and care.
- Resilience: The confidence to remain calm, grounded, and consistent-especially when challenges arise.
- Commitment to inclusion: A belief that every child deserves to feel valued, understood, and supported.
Desirable Qualities
- Experience in youth work, social care, or education (not essential if you bring the right attitude and willingness to learn).
- Awareness of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and how they affect behaviour and learning.
- A reflective mindset, with openness to feedback, supervision, and continuous growth.
Your Impact on the Community
In this role, you’ll become a trusted ally to young people with SEMH needs, helping them build emotional resilience and rediscover their potential.
You’ll:
- Support students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, responding to each individual with sensitivity and purpose.
- Use creativity art, music, sport, or personal interests to foster connection and inspire engagement.
- Promote positive behaviour using trauma-informed approaches and Team Teach strategies.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and SENCOs to deliver personalised, meaningful support and keep families engaged throughout each child’s journey.

Requirements
To apply, you’ll need:
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
- Willingness to obtain business insurance (we can guide you through this).
- Availability between 8:30am and 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.
