Cover Supervisor – Behaviour & Learning Support

Our partnered school, part of the Cabot Learning Federation Trust in Brockworth, is seeking a reliable and proactive Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team, supporting pupils aged 11-16 with a strong focus on behaviour, engagement, and academic progress.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in education, youth work, or behaviour support who’s ready to take on a pivotal role in a specialist setting.

About the Role

As an HLTA, you’ll play a key part in delivering high-quality learning experiences, stepping in to lead lessons when required, and supporting students with behavioural and emotional needs. You’ll work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to ensure consistency, structure, and a nurturing environment throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead whole-class learning in the absence of teaching staff, using pre-prepared materials

• Support teachers in planning and delivering targeted interventions

• Manage behaviour confidently and consistently, using de-escalation strategies where needed

• Build positive relationships with pupils, encouraging engagement and participation

• Support students with SEMH needs, helping them regulate emotions and stay focused

• Collaborate with staff to maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Who We’re Looking For

• Experienced in working with young people, ideally in a school or behaviour support setting

• Confident in leading learning and managing classroom dynamics

• Calm, adaptable, and able to respond effectively to challenging behaviour

• Passionate about education and committed to making a difference

• Able to drive and willing to obtain business insurance for outreach work (if applicable)
