Your Role in Supporting Student Success
As a Catering Assistant, you’ll help prepare and serve meals to students, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. You’ll work closely with the Cook and Catering Manager to deliver efficient, high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and serving food according to agreed menus and standards
- Ensure food is presented well and served promptly
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and dining areas
- Support stock control and kitchen organisation
- Provide friendly, polite service to students and staff
- Follow food safety and health & safety procedures
- Contribute to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
What You’ll Bring
Qualifications:
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Experience:
- Previous experience in catering or food service (preferred)
- Experience in a school or similar environment (desirable)
Skills & Behaviours:
- Friendly, enthusiastic, and reliable
- Able to work well in a team and independently
- Good communication and time management skills
- Physically capable and able to work in a busy environment
