Affinity Workforce is working in partnership with primary schools and Multi Academy Trusts in Melksham and is currently recruiting dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support pupils across a range of educational settings.

We have a high demand for support staff, offering both flexible day-to-day work and longer-term placements. Whether you’re looking for immediate shifts, classroom support roles, or a more consistent position, we can help find the right opportunity for you.

We welcome applications from experienced Teaching Assistants as well as candidates with a background in Special Educational Needs (SEN) support, as many of our partner schools require additional support for pupils with a range of learning, communication, behavioural, and emotional needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons
• Providing classroom support to individual pupils and small groups
• Assisting pupils with their learning, development, and wellbeing
• Supporting pupils with additional learning, behavioural, communication, or emotional needs where required
• Helping to implement strategies and interventions to support pupil progress and engagement
• Creating a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
• Encouraging independence, participation, and positive behaviour
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other school staff to meet pupils’ needs
• Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and confidentiality

Requirements

• Experience working with children or young people (essential)
• Experience in a school or educational setting (preferred)
• Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is highly desirable and advantageous for many of our placements
• A patient, caring, and proactive approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility, reliability, and the ability to adapt to different school environments
• A valid Paediatric First Aid qualification is required
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
