Futura Learning Partnership Trust is seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support our primary schools in the Keynsham area. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate education professional who is confident in leading whole-class teaching and supporting pupils with a range of learning needs, including Special Educational Needs (SEN).

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and school leaders to deliver high-quality learning experiences, provide classroom cover when required, and support pupils in achieving their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons and provide whole-class cover in the absence of a teacher.
  • Support teaching and learning across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
  • Work effectively with pupils with additional needs, including SEN.
  • Assist in planning, preparation and assessment activities.
  • Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups of pupils.
  • Promote positive behaviour and create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents and external professionals where required.

Essential Requirements

  • HLTA qualification or an equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Previous experience covering classes within a primary school setting.
  • Proven experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Strong classroom management skills and confidence leading learning independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
