We are currently recruiting on behalf of a successful Multi Academy Trust for an experienced and proactive School Business Manager to provide interim cover from September to December 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive leadership team and play a key role in the operational and strategic management of two primary schools. The successful candidate will oversee business operations, ensuring the effective management of finances, HR, administration, premises, compliance, health & safety and support services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day business operations of the schools.
- Manage budgets, financial planning and monitoring to ensure value for money.
- Support recruitment, HR processes and staff management.
- Oversee administration functions and drive continuous improvement of systems and processes.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including health & safety, safeguarding and GDPR.
- Work closely with senior leaders to support school improvement priorities.
- Coordinate facilities management and liaise with contractors and external stakeholders.
- Provide strategic advice and operational leadership across multiple sites.
About You
We are looking for a skilled and organised professional who can demonstrate:
- Previous experience working in a School Business Manager or similar leadership role within education.
- Strong financial management and budget monitoring experience.
- Knowledge of school operations, compliance and HR processes.
- Experience using school management and finance systems such as Arbor, iTrent, IMP, Planergy or similar.
- Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to work strategically while maintaining strong operational oversight.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
