We are working in partnership with a supportive and inclusive multi‑academy trust to recruit dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to work across a number of schools within the trust.
This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and making a meaningful difference to their learning and development.
The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties and physical needs
- Work on a 1:1 basis or with small groups, supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities
- Help implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs), EHCP targets and behaviour support plans
- Promote positive behaviour, inclusion and emotional wellbeing
- Support pupils’ social, emotional and academic development
- Maintain a safe, nurturing and supportive learning environment
We Are Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND (school‑based experience desirable but not essential)
- A patient, empathetic and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to adapt to the needs of different pupils and school environments
- A genuine passion for inclusive education
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
