Sky Academy is a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) provision based in Taunton. The academy supports young people who have experienced challenges in mainstream education, often linked to behavioural, emotional, or social needs.
Sky Academy provides a structured, supportive, and therapeutic environment where students are encouraged to re-engage with learning, develop emotional resilience, and build positive relationships. We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Sports Mentor to join the team at Sky Academy.
This role focuses on supporting students with SEMH needs, using sport and physical activity as a key tool to engage learners, build relationships, and support emotional and behavioural development. You will work closely with students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, both within the academy and through structured sports-based and pastoral interventions.
As a Sports Mentor, you will act as a positive and active role model, helping students develop teamwork, resilience, and self-discipline. You will play a key role in supporting students who may present with challenging behaviours, using a calm, consistent, and proactive approach.
