Affinity Partnerships is delighted to be supporting a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Kingswood, South Gloucestershire, in the recruitment of a Year 5 Teacher to cover a planned long-term staff absence from September.

This full-time position is expected to run for at least the autumn term and presents an excellent opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic teacher to make an immediate impact within a supportive Key Stage 2 team.

The Opportunity

The school is seeking a skilled classroom practitioner who can deliver engaging, high-quality teaching and quickly establish positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.

The successful candidate will assume full responsibility for a Year 5 class, including planning, preparation, assessment, reporting and participation in wider school life. They will join a dedicated and collaborative team committed to helping every child achieve their full potential.

This role would suit an experienced Key Stage 2 teacher or an Early Careers Teacher with strong Year 5 placement experience and the confidence to take on a full class teaching role.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Undertake full class teaching responsibilities for a Year 5 class.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned to the National Curriculum.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Assess, monitor and report on pupil progress.
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
  • Contribute to the wider life and ethos of the school.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, achievement and personal development.

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Has experience teaching within Key Stage 2.
  • Demonstrates excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
