Are you a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity in Clevedon? We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across a variety of welcoming and supportive school settings.
Whether you have previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Support Worker, Youth Worker, or Sports Coach, we would love to hear from you.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience supporting children with Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, and other additional learning needs, alongside those who are confident in managing challenging behaviour and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
A background in sports coaching is highly desirable, as it can bring valuable skills in engagement, motivation, teamwork, behaviour management, and building positive relationships with young people.
The Role
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN.
- Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum and achieving their learning goals.
- Work closely with teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive learning experiences.
- Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and participation in school activities.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and SENCOs.
- Promote a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or young people.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN is highly desirable.
- Confidence managing challenging behaviour and promoting positive outcomes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach.
- Sports coaching, youth work, care, mentoring, or support work experience is advantageous.
- A genuine passion for making a difference in children’s lives.
