SEN Teaching Assistant

Affinity Partnerships is proud to be working in partnership with Futura Learning Partnership Trust to recruit dedicated, caring, and passionate SEN Teaching Assistants to support children and young people with a range of additional learning needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with experience in education, care, support work, or youth work who are looking to make a meaningful difference in a school setting. We are seeking enthusiastic and resilient professionals who are committed to helping pupils achieve their full potential while providing a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 basis or within small groups
  • Assist students with communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and learning activities
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and SENCOs to deliver personalised learning plans
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
  • Support pupils with complex needs, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties
  • Help create a safe, engaging, and structured classroom environment
  • Work alongside teaching staff, therapists, and other specialist professionals
  • Prepare and organise learning resources and classroom materials
  • Provide personal care where required, ensuring dignity and wellbeing at all times

About You

  • Previous experience in SEN, education, care, support work, or a similar setting is desirable
  • Passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs
  • Patient, empathetic, and resilient in challenging situations
  • Confident managing behaviour and supporting pupils with varying levels of need
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices
  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) is desirable
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop within the role
