About the Role

At Affinity Partnerships, we believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of the challenges they face.

We are seeking compassionate, resilient, and motivated Youth Mentors to support children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Special Educational Needs (SEN) across Bristol. Working within educational settings, you will play a vital role in helping students build confidence, develop positive relationships, and re-engage with learning.

Key Responsibilities

As a Youth Mentor, you will:

  • Build positive and supportive relationships with students
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group mentoring sessions
  • Support young people with SEMH and SEN needs
  • Encourage engagement with learning and personal development
  • Help students develop confidence, resilience, and social skills
  • Work collaboratively with school staff, families, and external professionals
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Act as a trusted and consistent role model

We are looking for individuals who demonstrate:

  • Empathy and patience
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Resilience and a positive attitude
  • A genuine desire to support and inspire young people
  • Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults (desirable but not essential)
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare
